Creating valuable marketing content is vital to any company that wants to increase their leads as well as their sales. A common marketing thought today is that in order to increase your Return on Investment (ROI), you must let your customers know how they could benefit from what you offer and how they relate to what you produce. However, that  thought actually limits the possibility of even more potential customers.

When it comes to content marketing, you should actually stop asking the question, “What do my customers want?”

When your target is limited to a particular audience, you lose the possibility of reaching out to a bigger market. It also goes to show that there is no potential to increase your ROI because your marketing effort is limited to a particular market.

Successful content marketing should provide the following information: Who we are, What we do and What our purpose is.

The best content marketing efforts are those that are specifically produced to target a wider audience. If you’ve been producing your marketing efforts solely for your customers, you should start thinking about also targeting an even larger market.   

Start targeting every potential customer out there especially journalists, podcasters, authors, amplifiers, influencers, and media. When you are able to target these people, they can actually share their experience of using your services to their followers.  In turn, their followers can become your customers as well.

While it’s common practice to produce content that will answer or cater to your present customers, you can still do that. But, it’s better to write content that can reach an ever larger audience.
